Featured Fosters

I  am working with One Step Closer Animal Rescue and Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad.

Below are all the photos of the Featured Fosters that are in dire need of forever homes.  These animals have been waiting a long while to find their FURever family.  Some of them require extra tender loving care.  If you have love in your heart and want to share it, please consider adopting one of these beautiful furry friends.

Incidentally, if your Barn Home needs a cat, less-friendly felines are your green solution to mouse, mole and rodent problems in stables, farms, warehouses, etc. Give a less social kitty a chance. Respond to [email protected] or 973-300-3185

Cecil

from O.S.C.A.R.

Male Adult Pomeranian/Pug mix. 25 lbs.  Neutered.  Good with cats and dogs.  Up-to-date on shots.  Cecil is sweet little guy wondering what happened to his owner. Unfortunately, his owner died and he was passed from house to house until he finally ended up at a shelter. Cecil loves to go on walks and be outside. Cecil gets along with other dogs and doesn't bother cats. Having lived with an older person, Cecil would be best in a home without very young children because he has never been around them. He is a precious boy who would love to be your lap dog. Cecil is 6 years old and 15 pounds. Please help Cecil find the loving home he deserves.

From his foster Mom: He LOVES going on walks, LOVES being outside, and he can run! When he see his leash come out he does a happy dance spin on his hind legs by the door. I took him on a 50 minute walk at meadow breeze park this week and he still wanted to go another lap! He may look older but he has plenty of energy and enthusiasm to play and take long walks. He enjoys playing with toys and laying in the sun. He is the perfect balance of active and chill. He is a gentle dog who needs a little time to warm up before he becomes affectionate. Anyone willing to have patience with him will have a great dog who will love them unconditionally. He prefers not to be picked up and will come to you on his own time. He follows his foster dad all around the house and enjoys snuggling up to him to watch TV. In addition, he is a perfect house guest who is housebroken, sleeps all night in the crate, and doesn't destroy anything while left alone. Currently, Cecil is being fostered in a calm adult only home with 2 cats and 2 dogs.

Alamosa

from O.S.C.A.R.

Alamosa is a super sweet and happy girl. She loves to play and, at 9 months old, still has alot of puppy personality in her. Her high energy, which can be typical of her breed, usually gets her in trouble with other dogs so she would do best as an only dog in the home. Alamosa would love to have a family and a big yard to romp in or someone who is active that likes to go for long walks, hikes or runs. Alamosa weighs about 37 pounds. Please help Alamosa find the loving home she deserves.

She is not good with cats or other dogs, but she is spayed and up-to-date with her shots.

Raco

from O.S.C.A.R.

Raco was not given very good care and had been neglected before his owner finally surrendered him. He had some missing hair but now with good nutrition and lots of love his hair has almost completely grown back in. In spite of what he went through, Raco is a wonderful dog who is very friendly and gets along with other dogs, people and kids. He loves getting attention and being petted. Raco would love to find a home where he would be treated like family. He is about 3 years old and weighs 42 pounds. Please help Raco find the loving home he deserves.

Raco is a German Shepherd/Coonhound Mix that is three years old, neutered and up-to-date with shots.

Coco

from B.A.R.K.S

Coco is a beautiful five year old Siamese mix lavender point male.

He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, combo tested, had a dewormer and has been microchipped.

Coco is looking for a home to call his own.  He takes time to get to know new people, but allows petting now when being bribed with his favorite treat - kitty broths on a spoon.

The ideal quiet home will have no dogs and be very patient to allow him to settle in.

Think of him as a roommate who will share your space while you see if your relationship develops further!

Jupiter

from B.A.R.K.S.

Jupiter is an grey tabby boy with golden brown eyes. He's neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations and looking for a home! Jupiter is a loving kitty, will roll around and hug you. He does not like other cats so he needs to be in a home with no other cats and adults. Jupiter will make the right person a wonderful companion.

Milo and Marshall

Milo and Marshall have lived together all of their lives.  Milo is 2 1/2 years old and Marshall is 4 1/2 years old.  They are both front declawed and are a bonded pair.

They are best in a home with adults and no dogs.

from B.A.R.K.S.

Both boys are neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped.  They lost what they thought was a forever home and are hoping someone will open their heart and home to take in these two handsome boys.

Matilda

from O.S.C.A.R.

 Boxer/Mountain Cur Mix

Brindle color

Young 61-100 lbs. when grown.  Not good with dogs or cats.  spayed.  Shots up to date.

Matilda and her puppies were dumped at a shelter. It was then, at a vet check, that poor Mommy Matilda was also found to be heartworm+. Matilda has been an awesome Mom to her babies and all her pups have found their forever homes. She has completed her treatment for heartworm and is now ready for life with her new family. Matilda has an adorable underbite that gives her face such character. She is people friendly, sweet & loving, can be a little strong on a leash, enjoys playing ball and snuggling. She can be picky about her doggie friends and is not a fan of cats so an only pet home would suit her best. Matilda is also a favorite of the volunteers. Matilda is 4 years old and 68 pounds. Please help Matilda find the loving home she deserves.

Gandolf

from O.S.C.A.R.

Gandolf has lived much of his life outside and just learning about the perks of indoor living. He has a tail that curves over his back which bounces when he walks when he is relaxed and happy. Gandolf loves to sit next to you and be petted. This Elkhound mix boy is true to his breed which is being loyal & protective of his people and as a herding breed, used to guard and defend the sheep. His ideal home would be a home without children and someone who is looking for a dog to keep a watchful eye over them. Gandolf is about 4-5 years old and just 35 pounds. Please help Gandolf find the loving home he deserves.

If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we can try and process and pre-approve any potential adopters prior to our next adoption event.

 Flip

from O.S.C.A.R.

Flip is a handsome 1 year old male mix of Husky and Terrier who is smart as can be. He is active and playful and does great with other dogs. Flip has been working on training been and learning on an agility course in the play yard where he has been doing pretty well. He is super smart and treat motivated so he is a quick learner. He does have some food aggression we are working with him on and since he is still a puppy we feel that he will be trainable but for now it would be best for him not to be in a home with young children who don't understand not to bother him while he is eating. This cute boy has gorgeous eyes and a short fluffy coat. Flip weighs about 40 pounds. Please help Flip find the loving home he deserves.

Please be patient while you wait.  Adoption is a process, and the Rescues want to make sure you are a perfect match with the pet.  They also want to take every precaution necessary to make sure the animal is protected, so don't take it personally.  Be sure to click on the link below, and fill out the rescue application.  I promise it will be worth the wait!
