Sussex County Hauntings and Other Strange Phenomena: Part I
Sussex County Hauntings
Something is definitely stirring in the buildings of Sussex and all around the county, and the stories about them can be found in these pages if you are fearless enough to read them.
“Deb and Jaime stopped dead in their tracks. They saw a black, featureless Nosferatu-like figure with tree-like limbs hovering over Gladys in her bed. Deb immediately flicked the light switch on, and the thing turned its head in their direction. Piercing, red eyes stared wickedly back at them. It must have been at least 6 to 7 feet tall, but immediately shrunk down and slipped out the window and disappeared. Gladys looked desperately at them. “You saw that!” she screeched, her eyes begging for confirmation and validation. Deb began to cry. Jaime was shaking uncontrollably. Deb asserts it was not human, nor had it ever been."

I was thrilled to see a book about the hauntings in my county! This book does not disappoint!
I learned about so many new haunted places. Hoping for another one soon with some Montague stories!
Finally a book that focuses on the most beautiful part of the state.
I was not born in Sussex County but relocated here because of its tranquility and rural setting.
Add that to my love of horror and some great local lore and you have a great book that focuses on the counties local legends.
Up here in the western corner, we have our own unique stories to tell, and so do our ghosts.
